About the Opportunity:

Toppan Merrill has an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager of Information Technology to join our remote team. You will lead the adoption of strategic sourcing processes by collaborating with Information Technology and functional leaders, while serving as a subject matter expert in the Information Technology Category. You will develop and implement sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project goals and deliverables are met. This includes all IT related goods and services: software, hardware, cloud services, telecom and IT consulting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research, execute and implement effective strategic sourcing/procurement strategies to meet both short term and longer-term business objectives.
  • Use current category spend information/data and business knowledge to identify sourcing projects and develop and execute an overall cost reduction/value improvement plan.
  • Acts as liaison between business unit sales, technology, and finance leaders to establish and obtain acceptance on contribution measurement methodology and assisting the business with annual budget process.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and align procurement strategies
  • Responsible for sourcing event conceptual development, planning, and coordination the negotiation or tendering process, and oversight of the supplier communication.
  • Establishes program compliance metrics to ensure goals & deliverables are met.
  • Provides project updates to stakeholders up to and including Executive Management.
  • Negotiates contracts with suppliers in partnership with or on behalf for internal clients.
  • Assists internal clients through the ROI/justification process.
  • Assist with annual budgeting process

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Information Technology, or equivalent working experience.
  • 5+ years in a Category Management position - focus on Information Technology. Software and Hardware
  • Previous experience working with Sr leadership teams.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams such as Legal, IT and Human Resources
  • Nice to have: Previous experience managing or leading others.
