Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern Territory in Corsicana, TX is seeking a Store Associate to receive, sort, price, and prepare donated items for display, assist customers, operate the cash register, maintain a neat sales floor, and help with donation pickups as needed. You will tag items, answer questions, balance the register, and ensure security of cash and sales records.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; experience: at least one year in retail or warehouse preferred, or an equivalent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year retail or warehouse experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Receives, inspects and sorts donated items according to category and condition; selects items suitable for display and prices them.
• Tags items with specially coded tickets and/or prices; hangs clothes on hangers and places on racks; packs items and transports to storage or display areas.
• Rings up sales, handles cash, balances the drawer, and answers customer questions.
• Assists donors by directing to loading/unloading areas; provides tax receipts as needed.
• Maintains neatness and security of the cash register area and warehouse; ensures adequate stock of bags and forms.
• Cleans racks, floors, and display areas to keep the store inviting.
