The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods, we provide financial support to assist men and women with social and spiritual challenges. The in-residence rehabilitation program offers basic necessities, including a clean and healthy living environment, nutritious food, work therapy, leisure activities, counseling, and spiritual guidance. Our goal is to develop life skills and foster a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Each team member contributes to recycling goods that help repair broken lives.
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sorter/Processor to assist in the operation of the sorting room or production area of a Store.
Duties:
- Assist with sorting room operations as required.
- Cross-train in all sorting functions under the guidance of the Sorting Room Supervisor.
- Help maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the sorting area.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Responsible for baling as needed.
- Support work therapy by demonstrating professional conduct, work habits, and supervision as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator.
Specific Roles:
Sorter:
- Inspect and separate saleable from unsaleable donations.
- Process at least 300 sale-quality garments per hour.
- Sort and pack seasonal clothing, shoes, and accessories.
Hanger/Tagger:
- Hang, tag, and process merchandise.
- Hang at least 225 garments per hour, ensuring proper presentation and tagging per policy.
Pricer:
- Price all merchandise considering quality, brand, and condition.
- Price at least 225 garments per hour.
Bric-a-Brac and Other Categories:
- Sort, clean, and price miscellaneous items, shoes, linens, books, toys, furniture, and electrical goods as specified.
- Maintain merchandise in proper order, follow rag out calendar, and record pricing details.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of clothing quality and pricing.
