Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is seeking a dedicated team member to sort apparel and soft line goods, ensuring salable items meet quality standards. You will participate in pricing, tagging, and maintaining a clean sorting area while providing exceptional donor and shopper experiences.

Responsibilities include identifying item value, assisting with floor rotations, and staying current with brand and price points. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to Goodwill policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 100% donor and customer delight and provides world class customer service.
• Sort apparel and soft line goods into salable or salvage categories.
• Provide quality assurance by checking for tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, and missing buttons.
• Meet sort count goals of 1 dandux/hour or process 4/6 duros per 8-hour work-shift.
• Maintain sorting and processing area in a neat and clean condition.
• Demonstrate the principles of DURT (Donor Urgent Response Team) with every donor interaction and use the DURT Alert system to ensure all donors receive world class customer service.
• Identify the value of items.
• Assist with floor rotation of apparel as needed.
• Assist with pricing, tagging, and transporting of apparel occasionally or as needed.
• Stay current with brand names, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and price points for soft line goods.
• Identify potential e-commerce items and set aside for manager approval.
• Preplan for adequate supply of donated goods by notifying manager on duty when merchandise is low.
• Follows safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Manager on Duty.
• Adheres to all Goodwill personnel policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
• Attends in-service related training as assigned.

Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Store Manager or designee is rresponsible for sorting of apparel and soft line goods into salable or salvage categories. Selection of salable goods must meet quality standards while maintaining quantity of apparel inventory.

Essential Functions:
