Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE VALLEYS INC in Blacksburg, VA, is seeking a part-time Apparel Associate. You will tag and hang apparel, assist with quality control, and help maintain a neat processing and sales floor environment.

You will interact with donors and customers to deliver world-class service, follow safety procedures, and support daily store operations under supervision of the Store Manager. Base pay starts at $14.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Tag and size apparel and/or hang apparel onto racks by category.
• Assist with quality control assurance (tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, and missing buttons).
• Maintains accurate count with the goal of 60+ pieces per hour.
• Always maintains processing area in a neat and clean condition.
• Ensures positive donor and customer interaction by providing world class customer service.
• Demonstrates the principles of DURT (Donor Urgent Response Team) with every donor interaction and uses the DURT Alert system to ensure all donors receive world class customer service.
• Adheres to all Goodwill personnel policies and procedures.
• Follows safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Manager on Duty.
• Attends in-service related training as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
• Adheres to our Guiding Principles: world-class customer service, clean/ safe facility, fresh inventory.

Description

Mission Contribution: To ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and stewardship of the retail store through donor and customer relations, processing donated goods, quality control, to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities.

Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Store Manager or designee is responsible for hanging apparel, transporting, and hanging apparel onto sales floor and facility security and maintenance.

Essential Functions

• Tag and size apparel and/or hang apparel onto racks by category.
• Assist with quality control assurance (tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, and missing buttons).
• Maintains accurate count with the goal of 60+ pieces per hour.
