Job summary

Dematic, located in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Software Developer to design, implement, and maintain software for FlexSort and related material handling systems. You will work on SL2/RS200 sorters, induction and WCS interfaces, and contribute to documentation, proposals, and customer training.

The role requires 4+ years in software development, strong C/C++ and UI skills, and a proactive, team-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years software development and UI programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of OO design and programming concepts.
• Experience with Windows environments and related tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and teams.
• Familiarity with software QA and configuration control.
• Experience with industrial automation or material handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain software for FlexSort and related products.
• Resolve design problems with minimal direction.
• Prepare and present design documents to the team.
• Complete software design, coding, and testing for industrial systems.
• Document software with technical publications support.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals.
• Assist with technical and user training for customers.
• Support Customer Service and Deployment remotely or on-site.
• Adhere to QA, configuration control, and ISO 9000 procedures.
• Follow company development engineering rules.
