Job Summary

Sorenson Communications (VRS) performs ASL interpreting services regulated by the Federal Communications Commission. The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and supporting interpreting areas, which could include up to 50+ Interpreters.

Qualified individuals will perform lead duties and ASL interpreting services in support of our Directors and Leadership Team. This position is full-time with expectations for a minimum of 60% interpreting time based on business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of interpreters.
• Ensure full compliance through training and support.
• Work with Sorenson Leadership team to promote a collaborative environment.
• Maintain a minimum of 60% of time interpreting based on business needs.
• Support training and mentoring of interpreters.
• Conduct and support new hire training for interpreters.
• Perform Quality Assurance Checks through interpreter observations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Travel Requirements

Less than 25% travel required.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

Minimum 3 years interpreting experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Professional interpreting experience required.
• Previous management or leadership experience preferred.
