Job summary

Blood Bank of Alaska is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Systems Technical Writer to join the Quality Assurance team at our main campus in Anchorage, AK. This full-time role focuses on analyzing non-conformances and producing clear written evaluations, while collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure complete and accurate reports.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors preferred in English, journalism or related field.
• Experience in regulatory interpretation and advanced technical writing is valued.
• Knowledge of SOPs, QMS, and document control processes is preferred.
• Ability to research standards (AABB, FDA) and reference sources for SOP updates.
• Maintain consistency in abbreviations, formatting and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Write, revise, edit, and approve SOPs and controlled documents.
• Coordinate document control with owners and copyholders.
• Ensure reports are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulations.
• Train staff on QMS usage and SOP compliance.
• Support regulatory submissions with prepared documentation.
