Responsibilities

  • Performs general diagnostic ultrasound and vascular exams and assists physicians with specialty exams.
  • Enters charges in computer for department services and transmits to business office.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of department activities and patient flow.
  • Schedules in- and out-patient examinations and provides instructions for patient preparations.
  • Maintains daily log of exams and ensures patient privacy and dignity.
  • Cleans examination rooms, equipment and disposes of soiled linens.

Supports the organization in fulfilling the mission, vision, and values of Logan Health.Our Mission: Quality, compassionate care for all.Our Vision: Reimagine health care through connection, service and innovation.Our Core Values: Be Kind | Trust and Be Trusted | Work Together | Strive for Excellence.Qualifications:ARDMS RegistrationRQI Provider (BLS) within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first, required.To be eligible for the Driver portion of the position:Current Driver’s License required.Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect any major driving offenses (i.e; DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.).In addition, personal vehicles used for LH business:State law minimum liability coverage limits requiredTwo years of ultrasound experience preferred.Promotes excellence through setting high standards and providing high quality outcomes.Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and exhibit empathy.Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.Job Specific Duties:Performs general diagnostic ultrasound and vascular exams and assists physicians with specialty exams.Uses established techniques and implements strict infections control and safety measures.Enters charges in computer for department services and transmits them to business office.Keeps supervisor informed of department activities and patient flow.Respects patients' rights to privacy and dignity.Knows hospital policies and the functions of other departments.Maintains regulatory requirements.Cleans examination rooms, table, equipment and dispose of soiled linens.Restocks supplies as needed.Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time and gives priority to stat requisitions.Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties.Wears identification while on duty.Keeps appearance neat and clean.Schedules in- and out-patient for examinations and procedures, providing instructions for patient preparations.Provides courteous and responsive communication to patients.Makes copies of patient exams on CD or film as requested.Inputs and/or completes charges for patient examinations in McKesson system.Maintains daily log of exams.Cooperates with staff to achieve department goals and prepare patients for procedures.The above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs.
