Job summary

Novant Health's Heart and Vascular Institute seeks a skilled Vascular Sonographer with vascular surgery experience to join our team. You will assist physicians and advanced practice providers in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating ultrasound equipment to obtain precise vascular scans.

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Location: Charlotte, NC with travel to all HVI Charlotte Region Clinics.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required.
• Graduate of ARRT-approved Sonography Program; or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program.
• Minimum of one year of vascular sonography experience.
• Certification/registration in vascular sonography (ARRT, ARDMS, or CCI) required.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently in diagnostic rooms.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians/APPs in diagnostic and/or therapeutic vascular procedures.
• Prepare patients and operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.
• Demonstrate competency testing and maintain required documentation.
• Possess basic computer skills and adapt to varied patient age-specific needs.

What We Offer

Vascular Sonographer

We are looking for a skilled Vascular Sonographer with vascular surgery experience to join our team with the Heart and Vascular Institute. You will assist physicians and/or advanced practice providers in the performance of diagnostic and/ or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday

Location: Charlotte, NC - Travel to all HVI Charlotte Region Clinics

What We're Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of ARRT-approved Sonography Program; or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in vascular sonography, required
• Licensure/Certification: Certified and registered by ARRT in Vascular Sonography or certified and registered by ARDMS in Vascular Technology or certified and registered by CCI in Vascular Specialist RT(S)(VS), or RDMS, RT(VS) or RDMS, RVT, VT, or RT(S), CCI (RVS), RDMS, CCI (RVS), required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
  • Possesses Good communication skills.
  • Capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms.
  • Has working knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment.
  • Able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served.
  • Has ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
  • Has basic computer skills.
