Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist: General - Contract - Bay Shore

Base pay range

$45.00/hr - $85.00/hr

Job Responsibilities
  1. Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, position them on examination tables, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety.
  2. Obtain relevant imaging and diagnostic reports, consult with referring physicians about patient history, and determine the appropriate ultrasound exam.
  3. Set up and operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings for accurate results using technical judgment.
  4. Recognize and differentiate structures and artifacts, and determine if further evaluation is needed.
  5. Observe patients during examinations, report any changes or abnormalities, and ensure patient safety.
  6. Document and label images, maintain records, and log performed exams.
  7. Perform minor repairs, calibration checks, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  8. Perform related duties as required, considering all essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Job Qualifications
  • Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
  • Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification required, with specialized certifications as needed.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience required.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
