Job description

$32.50 Starting hourly rate, increasing with experience.

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Sonographer to join our growing OBGYN practice with 12 providers and 3 more on the way!

This is a Per Diem position, with NO weekends, holidays or on call!

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs patient assessments, acquires and analyzes data obtained using ultrasound, and uses independent judgment and systematic problem-solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care.

Provides a summary of findings to the physician or health care provider to aid in patient diagnosis and management. Participates in CQI activities.

Education and experience:

  1. Prefer two years of radiologic/imaging experience.

  2. Specific experience and training in Ultrasound and proficient knowledge of Ultrasound Equipment ARDMS Registered or ARDMS candidate. Graduate of a CAAHEP-approved school of Ultrasonography, or has received education and clinical experience and demonstrated competence to obtain appropriate ARDMS certification within a year of hire preferred.

  3. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. Recertification of existing employees is due within one month of expiration date.

  4. Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
