7:45am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday; Fridays 7:45am-12:30pm. No weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Acts as sonography section leader, representing ultrasonography in equipment and personnel matters.
  • Works closely with Radiologists, Perinatologists, and Cardiologists for diagnostic exams.
  • Maintains professional judgment and demeanor aligned with quality care standards.
  • Provides appropriate patient care, recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful procedures.
  • Complies with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission and excellence standards.
  • Assesses patient’s physical condition and needs.
  • Provides instructions for patient cooperation and optimal results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, clinical history documentation, and accurate record keeping.
  • Positions patients and equipment to produce high-quality images.
  • Assesses images for quality, annotation, and anatomy demonstration.
  • Participates in Quality Control standards and tasks.
  • Administers medical aid during emergencies.
  • Supervises and trains student and new sonographers.
  • Uses protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Uses radiology computer systems effectively.
  • Ensures patient and staff safety.
  • Manages daily workflow, patient flow, supplies, staff, and customer service issues.
  • Plans and prioritizes exams supporting patient and physician needs.
  • Participates in departmental projects and improvements.
  • Supports quality image production, documentation, and charge management.
  • Precepts and orientates staff.
  • Maintains punctual attendance per policies and standards.
  • Follows all policies and procedures.
Other Functions
  • Follows standards for image processing and interpretation.
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas.
  • May work at any facility as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Training

Associate degree in applied science, graduate of an accredited sonography program, meeting ARDMS or CCI guidelines.

Licensure/Certification
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS.
  • Or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS.
  • Or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • For Maternal Fetal Medicine: ARDMS physics and OBGYN registry; optional NTQR certifications.
Experience

Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine or Pediatric Congenital sonography, including advanced ultrasound procedures such as invasive procedures, Doppler, 3D/4D, fetal echocardiography, etc.
