Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN seeks an Ultrasonographer for a PRN temporary assignment (approximately 6 weeks). Shifts include day/evening and weekends, with starting wages $39.41–$59.11 per hour based on experience.

The position requires completion of an accredited Diagnostic Sonography program, ARDMS certification, and BLS, plus strong communication and anatomy knowledge. Responsibilities include confirming orders, obtaining diagnostic images, and providing preliminary findings to

• Completion of an accrediting Diagnostic Sonography Program.
• ARDMS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes initiative to confirm orders are accurate.
• Reviews patient history for necessary information (lab results, surgeries, etc.).
• Performs difficult manipulative skills to obtain diagnostic images on all patients (outpatient, inpatient, ER, OR, and portable).
• Uses independent judgment to evaluate images and related data to interpret exams and provides preliminary findings to the radiologist.
• Performs invasive procedures.
• Takes call on a rotating basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• BLS certification
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
