Job summary

WellSpan Health in Waynesboro, PA is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform a range of routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a general skill level. The role is PRN with day/evening/night shifts, requiring careful patient positioning and accurate imaging.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, less than one year of relevant experience, and BLS certification; RDMS in abdomen, breast, fetal, neurology, OBGYN, pediatric, or RVT is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum education requirements include a high school diploma or GED.
• Less than 1 year of relevant ultrasound experience is required.
• BLS certification is required upon hire.
• Multiple RDMS specialties meet the licensure criteria (abdomen, breast, fetal, neurology, OBGYN, pediatric) or RVT.

Responsibilities

• Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations such as abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecological scans, small parts and neonatal head scans, vascular scans, and assist with interventional procedures.
• Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
• Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
• Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
• Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
• Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
• Knowledge and use of digital image storage systems such as PACS.
• Job accountabilities specific to the WellSpan Medical Group: Directs patients to rooms and obtain vitals of patients.

• Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations such as, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecological scans, small parts and neonatal head scans, vascular scans, and assist with interventional procedures.
