Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis is seeking a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer for a PRN role in the Breast Center. The position performs ultrasound imaging, including breast-focused studies, and may assist with guided procedures, with a primary schedule of 7:30 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m. when on shift. Requires Breast Sonography experience; education at Associate or Trade School level; RDMS/RDCS certifications and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or trade school certification in Diagnostic Sonography.
• Breast sonography experience required.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience in sonography.

• Ensures proper function and readiness of all ultrasound equipment.
• Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and documents procedures accurately.
• Performs studies independently; may be on-call or at other sites as required.

Role Purpose

The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assists with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment.
• Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
• Performs studies independently; may perform studies on‑call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
