Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer for a PRN role in the Breast Health Center in St. Louis County. The position supports screening and diagnostic ultrasound services with a focus on breast imaging.

Shifts largely 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; PRN schedule with no benefits eligibility. Requires breast sonography experience and RDMS/RDCS or equivalent credentials.

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. The Breast HealthCare Center at Missouri Baptist Medical Center offers a full range of screening and diagnostic testing including digital mammography, Breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided core biopsy, breast MRI, stereotactic breast biopsy, and bone density scans. The Breast Health Care Center has a dedicated breast surgeon for inpatients as well as outpatients . It includes four digital mamm rooms, two ultrasound rooms, a stereo biopsy room, a mobile mammography program and an extensive outreach program.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assist with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging
