Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Part-Time Sonographer Adv to join our Ultrasound team. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered for joining the team. This role features 8- or 10-hour shifts with rotating weekends, call, and holiday coverage, and opportunities to work across satellite locations.

You will collaborate with Radiologists on imaging protocols, perform Level I duties, and mentor staff and students. The position emphasizes advanced anatomy knowledge, critical thinking, and independent coverage

Qualifications

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of sonographic anatomy and pathology.
• Communicates findings appropriately to physicians and patients when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of sonographic anatomy, pathology, and critical thinking skills to recognize and communicate findings appropriately.
• Collaborate with Radiologists on imaging protocols and procedure development.
• Perform all responsibilities of a Level I Sonographer.
• Assist with training and mentoring staff and student sonographers.
• Participate in system-wide standardization initiatives and workgroups.
• Communicate results to patients and ordering providers, when appropriate and authorized by the attending physician.
• Support quality assurance, regulatory testing, research activities, and technical initiatives.
• Function independently while providing coverage for off-shifts, on-call responsibilities, and satellite locations as needed, maintaining ongoing communication with leadership.
