Job summary

University of Vermont Health Network’s Elizabethtown Community Hospital seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound exams per physician orders and support the Radiology and MRI department.

The role requires ARDMS registration in abdomen/OB-GYN or vascular, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work quickly and calmly in a busy clinical setting. Maintains proficiency with ultrasound equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be registered by the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in abdomen, OB/GYN or vascular.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle anxious patients and families professionally.
• Excellent communication with physicians and staff in all situations.
• Ability to think quickly to deliver efficient, quality care in stressful settings.
• Maintain working knowledge of ultrasound equipment.

Qualifications / Job Requirements

Education / Skills Required:

• Must be registered by the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in any of the following disciplines: Abdomen, OB/GYN or Vascular.
• Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and family in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
• Requires the ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
• Must maintain a working knowledge of all ultrasound equipment.
