Job summary

Mercyhealth in Rockford, IL is seeking a Sonographer to perform fetal ultrasound exams at Mercyhealth Physician Clinic-Riverside. This full-time, onsite role requires accurate documentation in the digital reporting software and clear communication of findings to the Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician.

The ideal candidate has a graduate diagnostic medical sonography program, obstetric ultrasound experience, and ARDMS registration in OB/GYN with CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• Obstetrical ultrasound experience preferred, with high-risk perinatal experience a plus.
• ARDMS registration in Obstetrics/Gynecology and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform fetal ultrasound examinations as assigned.
• Document thoroughly and accurately in the digital reporting system.
• Communicate history and findings clearly to the MFM physician.
• Operate ultrasound transducers and adjust factors per ALARA principles.
• Participate in department QA meetings and follow safety rules.
• Ensure equipment is functional and place work orders as needed.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Sonographer - Mercyhealth Logo### SonographerApply: Onsite: Mercyhealth Physician Clinic-Riverside - Rockford, IL: Full time: Posted Today: 2026-03870**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**• Performance of assigned fetal ultrasound examinations.• Provides thorough and accurate documentation in the digital reporting software.• Effective communication of verbal history and findings to interpreting Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician.• Select and operate appropriate ultrasound transducers and adjust technical factors to guarantee patient safety while still obtaining the highest quality ultrasound image possible (abiding by the ALARA, as low as reasonably achievable, principle).• Participation in department quality assurance meetings.• Consistently follow established safety rules and regulations.• Knowledge of current High-Risk Obstetrical ultrasound practice and guidelines.• Evaluate equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and place appropriate work orders when necessary.• Work collaboratively with other partners to provide the utmost quality in patient care and satisfaction*.***EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
