Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Sonographer to join our imaging team. This PRN, as needed role supports ultrasound procedures, patient preparation, and documentation under physician direction. You will operate ultrasound equipment, select transducers, and help ensure high-quality exams.

Required qualifications include BLS within 30 days, Vocational School Graduate, and RDMS or RVT certification within a year. Experience is not required. Equal opportunity employer.

  • BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Vocational School Graduate is required.
  • RDMS or RVT must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians
  • Schedule patients for ultrasonic diagnostic procedures
  • Position patients and select the appropriate transducer
  • Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment and adjust the sonographer equipment to focus
  • Manage processing and documentation including developing film, making hard copy images, documenting tests, and ensuring department records, reports and files are correct
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and notify management of faulty equipment
  • Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values Statements

Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Manage processing and documentation including developing film, making hard copy images, documenting tests, and ensuring department records, reports and files are correct


  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and notify management of faulty equipment


  • Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values Statements


What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Vocational School Graduate
  • (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
