Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Sonographer role located in Houston, TX. The Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations, following established protocols and ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate interpretation by physicians. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating ultrasound equipment, documenting findings in the electronic health record, and collaborating with physicians and other care team members. The role involves maintaining equipment, adhering to infection control and safety standards, and supporting a patient-centered environment that reflects CommonSpirit Health’s values. The Sonographer also educates patients about procedures and contributes to continuous quality improvement in imaging services.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in performing general and specialized diagnostic ultrasound procedures with attention to image quality and patient safety.
• Strong patient care skills, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics, along with the ability to follow clinical protocols and adapt to varying clinical scenarios.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
