UVA Community Health seeks a Sonographer to support radiology by obtaining high-quality ultrasound images and delivering excellent patient care across UVA Health’s community settings.
The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, an Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred, ARDMS/ARRT certification within the first year, and at least 1 year of experience. On-call duties and travel between campus sites may be required.

Classification: Non Exempt
Work in concert with the radiologists to obtain high quality ultrasound images and provide exceptional patient care.
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred. Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound certification with ARDMS or ARRT.
Experience: 1 year experience in sonography preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Licensure: ARDMS certified within first year of employment required.
Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communications. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly. Ability to perform diagnostic procedures and to meet the specific needs of various patient age groups: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

Physical Demand Code: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. The base compensation range for this role is $40.16 - $53.79 hourly.
Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
