Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University (ARL) invites candidates for Signal Processing Research and Development Engineers to work onsite at State College, PA, with periodic travel to remote locations. You will join the Sensor Analysis and Data Modeling (SADM) Department within ARL, contributing to sonar system research and development for national defense.

You will develop and validate prototype algorithms, integrate multifaceted expertise, and communicate results to sponsors and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science is required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in signal processing or R&D environments.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, R, or Python and strong data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate subject matter expertise with a diverse team of engineers and military personnel.
• Develop prototype algorithms for analyses and data-product generation.
• Execute analyses to evaluate algorithm performance and data quality.
• Support field testing through remote or in-person analysis and troubleshooting.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and software engineers.
