Overview

As a Sommelier, you are a wine expert responsible for creating wine lists, recommending food and wine pairings, and advising guests on wine choices. Collaborating with chefs, managing the wine cellar, and ensuring wines are served correctly.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $16.50 and is tip eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Create and update the wine list in coordination with chefs and the Food and Beverage Manager.
  • Recommend food and wine pairings.
  • Advise guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices.
  • Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices.
  • Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware.
  • Train wait staff on available wines.
  • Ask guests for ID to verify legal drinking age.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Sommelier.
  • Experience in fine dining (NYC preferred).
  • Knowledge of all major wine regions and production.
  • Court of Master Sommeliers certification/WSET/ASA certification is a plus but not 100% necessary.
