Summary:

We believe in putting our Associates first. Our Associates come to work with a positive attitude, creative mindset, and a team mentality. It is the responsibility of our cooks to prepare a variety of hot and cold food items such as salad mixes, sauces, side dishes, and appetizers. Portions, washes, peels, slices, and mixes vegetables, fruits, pasta, and other ingredients from entrees, appetizers, salads, and garnishes. Carves and slices meats and cheese. Measure and mix ingredients to make salad dressings, sauces, salads, and hot and cold food items following recipes.

What We Are Looking For
  • Extensive knowledge of Old and New World wines, including various grape varieties, regions, and production methods.
  • Proven experience as a Wine Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or wine-focused establishment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate customers effectively.
  • Strong understanding of food and wine pairing principles, with a keen palate for flavor profiles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Certification as a Certified Sommelier Level 2 or higher
  • Proficient computer skills for managing wine inventories and creating wine lists.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy cases of wine.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Wine Selection and Procurement:
    • Source and select a diverse and high-quality wine inventory that complements the restaurant's cuisine and meets customer preferences.
    • Monitor wine inventory levels, track sales, and adjust purchasing decisions accordingly.
  • Wine Service and Pairing:
    • Offer personalized wine recommendations and guidance to customers, considering their preferences, budget, and food choices.
    • Present and describe wines accurately, including information about the vineyard, region, production methods, and flavor profiles.
    • Suggest appropriate wine pairings for menu items, enhancing the dining experience for guests.
  • Wine Education:
    • Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff members to enhance their wine knowledge and sales skills.
    • Organize wine-related events, themed tastings, or winemaker evenings, to engage customers and promote wine sales.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, new releases, and emerging wine regions to provide customers with the latest information and recommendations.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive wine list, including detailed descriptions, pricing, and awards.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Oversee proper wine storage and storage organization to maintain optimal conditions, including temperature, humidity, and lighting.
    • Manage inventory levels, track wine aging, and make recommendations for cellar investments and rotations.
    • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless wine service and proper wine storage within the dining area.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Build strong relationships with customers by providing personalized attention and exceptional service.
    • Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive and memorable wine experience.
    • Continuously strive to exceed customer expectations and contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the restaurant.
