Hawksmoor - Chicago is looking for a Sommelier to lead its wine programme as it opens its second restaurant in Chicago. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in top bars and restaurants, particularly in launching venues in the US. Responsibilities include executing the wine programme and maintaining high service and hospitality standards. Qualifications

• Extensive experience working in some of the best bars and restaurants in Chicago.
• Experience launching and opening restaurants and bars in Chicago and the US.
• Comfortable and experienced with high volume businesses in terms of both covers and revenue.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with all departments.
• Exemplary product knowledge of food and beverage and specifically wine.

Responsibilities

• Successfully executing the Hawksmoor wine programme in Chicago.
• Supporting the Lead Sommelier in running and maintaining the wine programme in Chicago.
• Ensure service and hospitality standards are high and consistent.
• Being a strong presence on the floor supporting the Front of House team.

Sommelier – Hawksmoor Chicago

Chicago is the historical powerhouse of American beef, and when Hawksmoor found out about an actual powerhouse building, it felt like fate. So, after years of dreaming, we’ve set out eyes on coming to Chicago. And we’ve found ourselves a home we cannot wait to settle into.

The LaSalle Street Cable Car Powerhouse is a beautiful, designated landmark, initially opened in 1887, in the heyday of Chicago’s cable care system. We intend to do it justice by restoring the original features to their former glory and, at the same time, breathe new life into the space.

Reporting to the Head Sommelier, we’re looking for a brand-new Sommelier to join our team and open our second international restaurant in Chicago.
