Job description

· Track work and document task details in an issue and project management system.

· Support and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

· Collaborate with stakeholders to perform routine administration and maintenance of cloud environments.

· Monitor the health and performance of cloud systems; identify and resolve operational issues.

· Conduct regular patching, updates, and disaster recovery testing.

· Apply and enforce cloud security best practices in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

· Assist in deploying applications and services in cloud environments using CI/CD pipelines.

· Create and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge base articles and runbooks.

Required Qualifications

The following qualifications represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the Cloud Engineer I role:

· Experience managing AWS or Azure cloud platforms.

· Experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers, including user and group management (e.g., Active Directory).

· Understanding of core networking concepts, such as subnets, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and load balancers.

· Basic proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

· Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or Ansible.

· Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git: cloning, branching, committing).

· Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

· Understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Nagios, or CheckMK.

· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional off-hours support as needed.

· Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

The following qualifications are highly desirable and will strengthen a candidate’s application:

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

· Relevant cloud or technical certifications, such as:

o AWS Solutions Architect Associate

o HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate

o General IT Certifications such as CompTIA or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE.

· Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly.

· Strong desire to grow professionally and expand cloud engineering skills.

· Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.

· Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow) and basic ITIL concepts.
