Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field from an accredited program
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security; maintain client confidentiality in in-person and telehealth
• Reliable private space and secure internet for HIPAA-compliant telehealth
• Ability to pass a NH criminal background check

Job description

Connective Wellness is seeking a part-time Somatic Therapist to provide body-based, trauma-informed psychotherapy to individual clients in a hybrid in-person/telehealth setting. This role blends traditional clinical mental health treatment with somatic modalities (e.g., Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, or a comparable body-based approach) to help clients process trauma stored in the nervous system and build regulation skills. The therapist will maintain an active caseload, complete timely clinical documentation, and collaborate with the practice's clinical team while working within the scope of their New Hampshire license.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide individual (and, where appropriate, group) somatic psychotherapy to clients presenting with trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, and related concerns, both in person and via secure telehealth.
• Conduct intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and adjust care based on clinical progress.
• Integrate body-based/somatic techniques (e.g., nervous system regulation, titration, resourcing, tracking bodily sensation) alongside talk-therapy interventions, always within client consent and comfort.
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation (intakes, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries) in the practice's EHR, consistent with HIPAA and New Hampshire licensure board recordkeeping requirements.
• Recognize and comply with New Hampshire's mandatory reporting law for suspected child abuse or neglect (RSA 169-C:29-39) and any comparable adult-protective reporting duties that apply to the therapist's license.
• Manage risk appropriately, including safety planning and coordination with emergency services or supervisors when a client presents an imminent risk of harm.
• Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, and required continuing education to maintain licensure and competency in somatic modalities.
• Coordinate with referring providers, insurance/billing staff, and front-office staff as needed for continuity of care.
• Maintain a confidential, secure telehealth environment for any remote sessions, consistent with HIPAA and practice policy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Active, unrestricted New Hampshire license in good standing with the NH Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) Board of Mental Health Practice as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - or license-eligible with an active associate/temporary license under required supervision, per Board rules.
• Formal training in a recognized somatic/body-based modality (e.g., Somatic Experiencing (SEP or in-process), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Trauma Therapy, or equivalent), or willingness to obtain such training within [X months] of hire.
• Master's degree (or higher) in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related clinical field from an accredited program.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements and experience maintaining client confidentiality in both in-person and telehealth settings.
• Reliable access to private, confidential space and a secure internet connection sufficient for HIPAA-compliant telehealth video sessions.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, consistent with applicable New Hampshire law and any requirements tied to the practice's payer contracts or facility licensure.
