Job summary

ContactLink Solutions LLC is seeking skilled Somali-English interpreters based in the US for a fully remote, contractor role. You will answer calls professionally, use healthcare terminology, and participate in ongoing training to ensure accuracy and confidentiality. Immediate availability after onboarding is preferred.

This is a full-time contractor position with monthly payments. You must have a quiet home office, steady internet, and a headset to ensure high-quality interpretation services

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Somali.
• Based in US.
• Minimum 3 years interpretation experience.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to render concepts per interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions/additions.
• Ability to explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally per interpreter's code of conduct.
• Familiar with industry-specific vocabularies (healthcare/medical).
• Participate in internal professional training.
• Communicate and report to team leader.
• Location-based language testing and background check may be required.

As a remote interpreter, you play a significant role in facilitating communication between Somali and English speakers. The interpreter needs to be able to process information quickly and accurately in a professional manner. It is essential to ensure a quiet and secure environment. Notepads, writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries are useful tools.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Fluency in English and Somali
• Based in US
• Minimum 3 year of interpretation experience
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
• Ability to render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additions
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication, with permission or at the request of the client

Technical Requirements:

• 90% English proficiency
• Steady wired internet connection
