Job summary

CACI in Fairfax, VA seeks fully cleared Somali linguists for a travel-only role supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations. You may lead or join a linguist team and travel up to 25% abroad.

Responsibilities include simultaneous and consecutive interpretation, translation and transcription of technical materials, and quality control of junior linguists. You will also update databases and analyze intercepted data for mission relevance.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• Ability to deploy - travel-only role.
• Able to pass an advanced English test.
• Able to score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test.
• Minimum five (5) years’ professional translation/interpretation experience.
• In-depth knowledge of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language areas.
• Master use of MS Office and internet research.

Responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation; translate/transcribe materials into American English.
• Analyze and report on translated material; quality control of junior linguists.
• Prepare and update databases of translated source material; scan data for mission relevance.
• Utilize linguistic and analytical skills for mission-driven roles.
