Solutions Validation Engineer – OSS Platform

SUMMARY:

The Solutions Validation Engineer will be responsible for Quality Assurance and validation activities focused on our new integrated OSS platform for Service Providers. This role requires a strong background in service provider networking technologies, network management, OSS, and modern software deployment practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing and validating software solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and engaging with clients for solution demonstrations, troubleshooting, and feedback.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute test strategies and test cases for OSS platform deployments.
• Conduct functional, integration, performance, and reliability testing.
• Automate testing and deployment using scripting (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Collaborate with client teams to drive solution adoption, addressing network use cases and goals.
• Design scalable, secure workflows, leveraging cloud networking experience where applicable.
• Maintain documentation for customers and internal use, including Confluence and Jira.
• Deliver customer-facing projects (~30-40% client interaction), demonstrating validated OSS solutions, including validation, acceptance testing, and problem resolution, following Agile methodologies.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., BGP, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6, SR, VPN).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, virtualization (KVM, VMware), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Skilled in automation tools like Ansible.
• Proficiency in Linux shell scripting, Bash, Python, JSON, and Jinja2.
• Experience with Agile development and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with APIs such as REST, RESTCONF, Netconf, gRPC, SOAP.
• Understanding of modeling languages like JSON, YANG, YAML, XML.
• Familiarity with microservices testing strategies.
• Experience leading network implementation projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, log review, debugging skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

CERTIFICATIONS (Preferred):

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Azure certifications, or similar.

PRODUCT EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with validating complex OSS solutions and network management systems.
• Familiarity with workflow engine-based solutions is a plus.

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to QA and validation.

Location: Remote considered; office located in Middletown, NJ. Hybrid work (minimum 2 days/week in Middletown) preferred.
