Job summary

Calca Solutions is hiring a Chemical Plant and Systems Operator to monitor instruments, control processes, and record data across shifts. You will draw samples, adjust valves and pumps, and ensure safety and quality in daily operations.

The role requires 3+ years in a plant environment or an associate degree in Process Technology, plus basic computer skills. Work is conducted in a control room and field, with emphasis on safety and BMP procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years operations related experience in a plant/manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Process Technology Degree or Certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor recording instruments, flowmeters, and level indicators.
• Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines.
• Record operating data such as test results and flow readings.
• Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.
• Draw samples of products to send to the laboratory for testing.
• Regulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations, as directed by supervisory personnel.
• Start and stop pumps.
• Environmental sampling and log sheet rounds.
• Line up valves from specified tanks to make transfers.
• Patrol work areas to ensure that solutions in tanks are not in danger of overflowing.
• Engage in operating machinery that regulates the flow of materials and products.
• Turn valves to regulate flow of products to tanks, storage drums, tote bins, bulk trailers, cylinders or isotainers.
• Transferring flammable and corrosive propellant from drums, cylinders, bulk storage tanks, and bulk trailers.
• Manage waste materials in accordance with BMP’s and environmental procedures.
• Calculate material requirements or yields according to formulas.
• Maintain a written log of shift activities, as required.
• Climb ladders and stairways, as necessary.

Shipping duties include but are not limited to filling containers, tank trailers, blending, transferring, and shipping products.
