LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to be a trusted technical advisor for our largest Enterprise prospects and customers, driving pre-sales discovery, architecture design, and PoC initiatives across multiple verticals.

You will partner with Account Executives and Customer Success to articulate technical value, deliver tailored demos, and work with Product/Engineering to influence roadmaps and scalability. Travel up to 50% and mentoring responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in a solutions/sales engineering or systems architecture customer-facing role.
  • Experience in SDLC, cloud architecture, or DevOps.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
  • Proven ability to lead and document PoCs and build technical and deal champions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to present thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical discovery, architecture design, and PoC implementation across pre-sales.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers on technical value propositions.
  • Deliver high-impact demos, workshops, and proposals for C-level and technical stakeholders.
  • Build trust with customers and identify technical champions; advise strategically.
  • Coordinate between customers and Product/Engineering to relay feedback and influence roadmap.
  • Lead cross-regional initiatives and improve SE tools and processes for scalability.
  • Mentor junior team members and share best practices within the SE team.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of LaunchDarkly platform, integrations, and industry trends.
  • Respond to RFPs and manage environments to support enterprise sales motions.
  • Translate complex requirements into scalable, sustainable solutions.
  • Represent LaunchDarkly at events and customer engagements with travel as needed.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Senior Solutions Engineer at LaunchDarkly, you will be a trusted technical advisor to our largest and most important Enterprise prospects and customers. This role is a critical part of the Enterprise sales strategy at LaunchDarkly, serving as a trusted technical advisor to sales working to both land new customers and expand existing customers. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in supporting multiple verticals. An ideal candidate is curious, excels in active listening, quickly and effectively builds custom demos and solutions, and demonstrates profound technical expertise with a customer-centric focus.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive technical discovery, architecture design, and PoC implementation throughout the pre-sales lifecycle.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to craft compelling technical value propositions.
  • Deliver high-impact demonstrations, workshops, and proposals tailored to C-level and technical stakeholders.
  • Cultivate trust and credibility with customers, identifying technical champions and positioning as a strategic advisor.
  • Liaise between customers and internal Product and Engineering teams to relay feedback and influence product roadmap.
  • Lead cross-regional technical initiatives and enhance SE tools, processes, and frameworks for global scalability.
  • Mentor junior team members, foster technical excellence, and share industry best practices across the SE team.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of LaunchDarkly’s platform, integrations, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Respond to RFPs, and manage technical environments to support enterprise sales motions.
  • Translate complex client requirements into scalable, sustainable, and technically sound solutions.
  • Represent LaunchDarkly at industry events and customer engagements through travel as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in a solutions engineering, sales engineering, or systems architecture customer-facing role.
  • Experience in areas such as the SDLC, cloud architecture, or DevOps.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms, expertise in at least one (e.g., AWS, Azure & Google Cloud).
  • Demonstrated excellence in leading & documenting a proof of concept and building technical & deal champions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated history of presenting thought leadership to the broader industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with security and compliance frameworks PII, PCI, HIPAA, is a bonus
  • Specific Requirements: 50% travel required

Pay:

Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 3:

  • Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle - $171,200 - $235,400 **
  • Zone 2: Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago - $154,100 - $211,860 **
  • Zone 3: All other US locations - $145,500 - $200,090 *

LaunchDarkly operates from a place of high trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

*Within the United States, our geographic pay zones are defined by counties surrounding major metropolitan areas.
**Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.
