Job summary

Akona Process Solutions is seeking an Application Engineer in Monroe, NC to translate customer needs into effective engineering solutions. You will collaborate with teams across sales, product development, and manufacturing to deliver tailored recommendations and ongoing support.

The ideal candidate should have an associates degree in mechanical engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the bulk solids or food processing industries. This role supports a hybrid work model if you reside over 50 miles from our Monroe office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Application-Mechanical engineering or technical support.
• Preferably experience within the bulk solids, food processing, or materials handling industry.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs and application data to recommend solutions.
• Prepare quotations and technical descriptions using CAD software.
• Act as a liaison between sales and engineering to ensure project alignment.
• Support customer presentations and equipment demonstrations.

Skills

Communication and interpersonal skills

Understanding of mechanical systems

Experience with CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)

Ability to interpret P&IDs and technical drawings

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Education

Associates degree in mechanical engineering or related field
