Job summary

BEGA North America seeks an entry-level Solutions Engineer to join our expert team in delivering architectural outdoor lighting, control, and furniture solutions. You will work with clients and partners to understand challenges and craft BEGA solutions using AutoCAD, Revit, AGI32, and SketchUp across projects worldwide.

The role requires a BS in architectural or mechanical engineering or related field, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to learn quickly.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in architectural or mechanical engineering, lighting or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to learn new software and quickly adapt to BEGA tools.
  • Proactive problem solving and client-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical inquiries and photometric support to customers.
  • Create lighting and control solutions using BEGA portfolio with design tools.
  • Assist in design reviews, BOM creation, and drawing updates.
  • Collaborate with sales, design community, and manufacturing teams.

Solutions Engineering works closely with our sales partners and the architectural design community to understand their vision, and deliver renowned architectural lighting solutions around the world using BEGA’s portfolio of lighting, furniture, and control solutions. Solutions Engineering is strategically placed at the intersection of architectural design, product engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing; and are foundational to BEGA’s strategic objective of providing world class service across the entire customer journey. Areas of specialization include: product expertise, applications engineering, installation and site integration, product modifications, technical support, commissioning, post-sales, and trouble shooting. The Solutions Engineer I position is an entry level position with no previous experience required.Knowledge & ExperienceSuccessful completion of a BS degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, lighting, or similar field required.No professional experience in lighting or adjacent construction industry required, but is preferred.Candidates with professional training, industry certifications, or advanced degrees are preferred.Working knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software suites – AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, or the equivalent.Must have the capacity to learn and navigate software programs and business systems quickly.Must have strong problem solving skills and an analytical approach to all tasks.Possesses a positive, professional attitude, and a willingness to be a part of a team environment.What you’ll doDeliver world class service to BEGA’s internal and external customers, including but not limited to: technical inquiries, photometric assistance, installation coordination, modification capabilities, and quality claim resolution.Be a BEGA product expert, understand all technical facets of our portfolio.Complete customer requested Design Assist programs for lighting, controls, and furniture using AGI32, Sketchup, and AutoCAD.Complete Tier 1 Modification Requests including approval, quoting, bill of material and drawing creation.Build and update technical documents for new and existing products using Solidworks, Adobe InDesign and Photometric Toolbox.Day to day responsibilities include tracking projects, managing active casework, and staying on top of multiple email chains.Performance MeasurementsDemonstrate a high standard of work ethic, professionalism, punctuality, and reliability at all times.Challenge the process! And last but not least, we strive for Excellence in everything we do!Position DimensionsMinimum travel requirements in support of market engagement activities or trainingsSalary Range$68,640 - $84,070 Annually / Hourly depending on experience/qualifications reflects the negotiable range for hire. The top of the range is $99,500 and is reserved for salary advancement and growth for this position.BEGA North America is headquartered in the heart of the picturesque “American Riviera” just south of Santa Barbara.
