Job description
Solutions Engineer - Enterprise Data Modeling Expert

About We Comes Before Me Corp, D.B.A. SqlDBM

Trusted by Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders, SqlDBM serves as a critical component in the ongoing management and delivery of enterprise data platforms. We support complex, multi-cloud environments including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and Redshift. SqlDBM integrates with Git, dbt, and data catalogs to enable collaboration, architectural consistency, and continuous innovation. Our platform supports long-term transformation initiatives, not just one-time migrations.

About the role : More Than Just Pre-Sales

This is not your typical Solutions Engineer role. We're looking for a seasoned data modeling expert, someone who has lived the pain of disconnected tools, messy handoffs between teams, and siloed architecture decisions. You’ve been on the front lines of enterprise transformation, not just pitching software, but building and refining foundational data architecture.

In this role, you’ll help prospective customers see what’s possible with SqlDBM. You'll run deep-dive demos, guide technical evaluations, and serve as a modeling and architecture thought leader. You’ll act as a bridge between our product and the real-world challenges of enterprise data teams.

  • You won’t just “demo the UI”, you’ll teach customers how to design models that align with CI/CD, dbt, GitOps, and domain ownership.
  • You’ll shape how modern enterprises evolve their data architecture to be collaborative, governed, and future-proof.
  • You’ll work with customers who already understand modeling, they’ll look to you as a peer and advisor, not a salesperson.
  • SqlDBM is growing fast, and you’ll be at the center of innovation, helping shape both how we sell and what we build.
What You’ll Do
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations and workshops to data teams, architects, and executives.
  • Translate complex data architecture concepts into practical solutions using SqlDBM.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to guide prospects through hands-on evaluations and PoCs.
  • Provide deep product knowledge and feedback to our product and engineering teams.
  • Mentor customers in best practices for data modeling, standards enforcement, version control, and pipeline integration.
  • Champion the value of visual, collaborative, forward/backward engineering with Git/dbt/Catalog integrations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with enterprise data modeling tools: ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, Erwin, and others.
  • Proven background designing and implementing modern data architectures in cloud environments (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, dbt, data cataloging, and metadata governance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, you’re comfortable leading whiteboard sessions, technical demos, and executive conversations.
  • A collaborative spirit with a passion for solving real data problems, not just showcasing features.
Bonus Points For
  • Hands-on expertise with SqlDBM (as a power user or customer).
  • Experience on a centralized architecture or data platform team within a large enterprise.
  • Participation in cloud migration or modernization projects from legacy DW to modern stacks.
  • Exposure to data mesh concepts, data modeling methodologies, and platform engineering.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary + performance-based incentives aligned with customer retention and expansion.
  • Opportunity to work with some of the largest, most influential data-driven organizations globally.
  • Remote-first work environment with travel opportunities for key customer engagements.
  • Work alongside industry leaders and a world-class product team at the forefront of data innovation.
  • Comprehensive plan coverage for employee and covered dependents for medical, vision, dental, life, Short-term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and employer-sponsored 401k.
  • Strong career growth trajectory in a rapidly scaling enterprise-first SaaS company.
