Job summary

Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a senior professional to contribute to cyber security and systems engineering efforts. You will support senior decision makers, lead architecture teams, and develop guidance across SoS architectures and security controls.

You will also evaluate advanced analytical methods, transition new technologies to operations, and help in road-mapping cyber resilience across DoW and federal contexts.

Qualifications

• Ability to present technical topics to audiences from senior leadership to technical experts.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to promote practical solutions to tough security problems.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, systems administration, programming, and/or cloud.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Ability to work at the SoS architecture level to identify and understand tradeoffs of various approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical support to senior decision makers.
• Lead or contribute to teams in the development, evaluation and improvement of security architectures.
• Develop and analyze system of systems (SoS) architectures, requirements, engineering, analysis, and deployment guidance.
• Develop and evaluate advanced analytical techniques, including AI/ML, behavioral analytics, and data-driven approaches for cyber operations.
• Document current-state architectures, identify gaps, evaluate integration strategies, and recommend security solutions.
