In the last few years, software businesses have gone from not having to worry about sales tax, to needing to monitor their exposure, calculate local sales tax rates, and file returns in over 20 US states and many countries worldwide.

So much of our economy today and tomorrow exists online. The internet economy has grown 6x over the last 10 years and software development productivity is only positioned to accelerate. Companies should be able to transact with customers everywhere. Anrok is building the tools behind the scenes that make compliant digital commerce a reality for companies big and small.

Anrok connects with billing and payment systems to automate sales tax compliance end-to-end. We have raised over $50M from leading investors like Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures.

We're looking for a Solutions Engineer who can understand and distill complex systems to find innovative solutions & communicate technical concepts in a way that is easy to understand for any stakeholder. The ideal candidate is highly organized with exceptional documentation skills, loves creating scaled processes, and can actively contribute to closing deals by demonstrating technical value. This curious problem-solver thrives on turning complex challenges into elegant, scalable solutions that drive business results.

In this role, you will:

  1. Become an expert in the various paths to integrating with Anrok between pre-built integration functionality, our APIs, and manual workflows
  2. Architect and evangelize technical solutions that drive sales success, partnering with internal teams, customers, and prospects to design and implement strategic solutions while serving as technical authority throughout the sales and onboarding cycle
  3. Work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to build and maintain expertise in the product, as well as to surface areas of friction and potential improvement
  4. Work with our Product and cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and escalate impactful features to unblock sales deals and activate current Anrok customers
  5. Break down, document, and socialize complex technical challenges and concepts for internal and external teams, to foster shared understanding and a clear path toward resolution
  6. Design scalable workflows to effectively prioritize and manage live calls, email responses, documentation of implementation paths and decisions, and other strategic projects
  7. Help surface, cross-functionally align on, and implement new ideas, such as improving our technical documentation or designing new demo functionality for our third-party integrations
  8. Serve as a consultative expert on both Anrok and broader API systems design for our prospects, customers, and partners
  9. Work closely with our Sales, Onboarding, and Account Management teams to provide effective and efficient technical support throughout the customer lifecycle
  10. In conjunction with the Technical Support Team, create and maintain technical documentation to support customer implementation and technical resolution success

What excites us:

  1. 5+ years of experience as a Sales or Solutions Engineer, preferably with enterprise-level technical systems (bonus points for SaaS and API direct experience).
  2. Deep technical expertise in API integrations and web technologies, with a proven track record of accelerating sales cycles by swiftly resolving complex technical blockers and architecting scalable implementation strategies that drive multi-threaded enterprise deals
  3. Ability to drive focused, results-oriented technical discussions across all seniority levels, skillfully translating complex concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders while maintaining clear meeting objectives and actionable outcomes
  4. You love to learn and are capable of building deep expertise in new industries and products quickly.
  5. You can spearhead complex cross-functional projects, build stakeholder consensus, maintain transparent communication channels, and orchestrate successful delivery through methodical execution and relentless follow-through.
  6. Background in solutions architecture, technical consulting, or similar customer-facing technical roles
  7. You enjoy playing a key role in the sales cycle and contributing to the bottom line.
  8. Ability to build and scale robust operational frameworks, combining exceptional communication skills with proven ability to architect, document, and implement enterprise-grade processes that drive organizational efficiency and repeatable success
