Solutions Engineer — Banking and Capital Markets
Enterprise AI is moving from pilots to production, and real-time, event-driven data is becoming a critical foundation. Agents are only as good as what they can sense, trust and act on in the moment.
Our client is a global enterprise technology company helping organizations enable intelligent, real-time experiences, modernize their application and integration landscape, and connect complex legacy, cloud and digital environments.
This specialist role is designed for an experienced banking or capital markets technologist who wants to move into a commercial, customer-facing position. You may currently be an enterprise architect, solution architect, senior engineer or technology lead. Previous presales experience is not required: the priority is technical depth, industry knowledge and the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
You would apply your expertise across multiple financial institutions, staying close to architecture and practical technical evaluations while helping customers shape investment decisions and supporting the sales process.
Banking and Capital Markets Focus
We are looking for depth in either of the following areas:
- Banking transformation and open banking: retail and commercial banking, API-led connectivity, digital customer journeys, payments, fraud, lending, servicing and core banking modernization.
- Capital markets and investment banking: market data, electronic trading, front-, middle- and back-office integration, intraday risk, post-trade processing, collateral and treasury.
Your experience should help you understand how these systems exchange information and the operational consequences of architectural decisions.
About the Role
Be a Trusted Advisor
- Partner with Account Executives to qualify opportunities, shape account strategies and drive deals to closure.
- Use your banking or capital markets experience to uncover customer challenges, assess architectural options and connect technical decisions with business outcomes.
- Educate customers on the value of event-driven architecture and agentic AI, helping them develop their real-time data and AI strategy.
- Guide customers on industry best practices, integration patterns and modernization strategies, including the convergence of event-driven architectures and multi-agent AI systems.
Champion Building and Customer Relationships
- Build and nurture relationships with architects, engineering teams and senior business stakeholders, turning users into advocates.
- Conduct on-site visits, regular check-ins and discovery sessions to stay aligned with evolving customer needs.
- Translate platform capabilities into outcomes customers care about, such as more timely payment and fraud information, real-time risk visibility and operational resilience.
Technical Validation and Proof of Value
- Lead demonstrations, proofs of concept (PoCs) and proofs of value (PoVs) that resonate with customer objectives.
- Architect solutions that showcase the business impact of the event-driven and agentic AI platform within banking and capital markets environments.
- Own and streamline the evaluation process, guiding prospects through workshops, hands-on trials and technical validations.
- Apply core EDA concepts and patterns, including publish/subscribe messaging, event sourcing, CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation), event streaming, and choreography versus orchestration, to solve customer architectural challenges.
- Articulate the business value of EDA to executive and technical audiences, connecting real-time event streaming to reduced time-to-insight, operational resilience, digital transformation and AI applications that use current data.
- Help customers evolve beyond request/response and batch architectures, connecting established banking systems, APIs, cloud services and newer event-driven applications.
Be the Broader Subject Matter Expert
- Stay ahead of trends in event-driven architecture, agentic AI, cloud computing, messaging and microservices.
- Engage both technical teams and executive leadership, bridging the gap between technology and business outcomes.
Collaboration and Customer Advocacy
- Provide customer-driven insights to influence product roadmap decisions.
- Work with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product and Engineering to ensure customer success.
- Support new AI product adoption by feeding real-world use cases and objections back to product and go-to-market teams.
Travel and On-Site Engagement
- Expect up to 35% travel, primarily across North America, for customer workshops, sales engagements and industry events.
