Amazon Robotics is seeking a Solutions Design Engineer to help design the next generation of robotic warehouses and fulfillment centers. You will evaluate processing solutions, work with robotics and data analytics, and influence partners across teams to deliver high-impact features.

You will manage multiple projects, develop models, and ensure designs meet performance and safety standards while aligning with Amazon design principles and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work.
• Experience in management of engineering design projects.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and create physical processing and material handling solutions using robotics and data analytics.
• Identify and analyze key operational and financial metrics as part of program and feature selection to drive smart decisions.
• Coordinate with systems and operations engineering teams to develop product features and optimize the performance of the FCs.
• Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Develop models as required to solve complex problems.
• Design robotic warehouses and facilities.
• Develop a deep understanding of the AR system, hardware and software, and ensure you are aware of changes and how these might impact customers.
• Develop, document and update design standards in conjunction with the wider AR solutions teams.

The Solutions Design Team is searching for an innovative and solutions oriented engineer to help design our next generation Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs). A successful candidate will have a passion for creating high-performance physical systems, a strong technical problem solving ability, excellent project management skills, the ability to effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels and an internal motivation to deliver results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Basic Qualifications

• Experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work
• Experience in management of engineering design projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering (any domain) or foreign equivalent, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
• Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
• Experience with process design based on Lean Principles
• Experience with design-in-safety

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
