Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Solutions Design Engineer to help design the next generation robotic material handling systems for Amazon Fulfillment Centers. You will create high-performance physical systems, solve complex problems, and influence stakeholders across the organization.

You will design robotic warehouses, manage multiple projects, understand AR hardware/software, and help define design standards with the AR solutions teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in design/innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work.
• Experience in management of engineering design projects.

The Solutions Design Team is searching for an innovative and solutions oriented engineer to help design our next generation Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs). A successful candidate will have a passion for creating high-performance physical systems, a strong technical problem solving ability, excellent project management skills, the ability to effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels and an internal motivation to deliver results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. The Solutions Design Team is not only responsible for analyzing and optimizing existing Robotic FC performance, but combining those learnings with the latest technologies to design new state of the art robotic material handling systems.

The day to day responsibilities include:

• Develop a deep understanding of the AR system, hardware and software, and ensure you are aware of changes and how these might impact customers
• Develop, document and update design standards in conjunction with the wider AR solutions teams

• Experience with process design based on Lean Principles
• Experience with design-in-safety
