Position Overview

The Large Enterprise Solutions Consultant is the primary technical resource for the Large Enterprise Sales Team. Using their experience and consulting skills, the Large Enterprise SC will lead client discovery discussions to understand process, goals, and objectives and work with sales executives and operations partners to create solutions to address customer needs. The Large Enterprise SC is responsible for crafting a customized solutions presentation to showcase how Paylocity can bring value and address business needs. The Large Enterprise SC must be very familiar with Paylocity’s internal processes and be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both internal and external users for current and future state.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with Large Enterprise Account Executives to qualify opportunities, conduct discovery relating to organizational objectives and business needs, develop sales strategies, and position solution presentations.
  2. Engage with customers and prospects to demonstrate Paylocity solutions and products, effectively communicating core value propositions and confirming technical viability.
  3. Complete technical aspects of RFIs and RFPs, identifying competitive landscapes and expected behaviors.
  4. Manage all aspects of the technical sales process, including development, delivery, and orchestration of technical activities, driving toward technical validation, selection, and closure (technical presentations, POCs, demos).
  5. Partner with internal teams for custom design solutions and additional development efforts.
  6. Present unique solution designs to senior leadership for adoption and ROI measurements.
  7. Attend implementation milestone meetings and ensure proper handoff from sales to implementation phases.
  8. Maintain documentation of discovery notes, customer needs, and sales activities in Salesforce/Vivun.
  9. Educate internal employees on product enhancements and assist with technical product presentations.
  10. Travel up to 50% for onsite events and demonstrations.
Knowledge and Application:
  1. Utilize knowledge effectively in practical situations to solve problems and make informed decisions.
  2. Expert ability using professional concepts to articulate and present technical/software demonstrations to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  3. Assist with creating sandbox environments for prospects with robust configuration and technical setup to prove out the use case.
  4. Develop current and future state solution integration diagrams and data mapping conversations.
  5. Translate key market / industry / technology trends, competitive intelligence and prospect / customer feedback into solutions.
  6. Financial acumen and ability to focus on metrics and ROI benefits.
Complexity and Problem Solving:
  1. Employ analytical skills to deconstruct complex problems into manageable components and analyze data appropriately.
  2. Industry knowledge and understanding of a customer’s decision-making process, goals, strategies, and business objectives.
  3. Interconnect with various stakeholders and cross-functional partners to ensure comprehensive problem-solving.
Collaboration and Interaction:
  1. Assist with educating existing employees (SCs and AEs) with product enhancements.
  2. Partner cross-functionally and interact with varying levels of the organization.
  3. Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Alliances and Services to launch and deliver new solutions.
  4. Participate with implementation in creation of statement of work expectations.
  5. Partner with Implementation, Development and other internal teams both pre & post sale to ensure all product gaps are addressed resulting in a strong client experience.
Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  2. Advanced technical knowledge in Human Capital Management, SaaS, Big Data, and business intelligence software.
  3. Minimum 10 years as a solutions consultant or equivalent industry experience.
  4. Prior experience supporting clients with over 1,500 employees.
  5. Preferred 2 years as an Enterprise SC III or similar role.
  6. Proven track record in field-based sales support and complex problem-solving.
