Workday Solutions Architect (Timekeeping Specialist)
This is a critical backfill role focused on driving the final stages of a major Workday implementation project. Our client is transitioning from a heavily customized Microsoft Project Portfolio Management (MS PPM) system to Workday for core functionality, specifically Timekeeping.
Base pay range
$90.00/hr - $100.00/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Workday Timekeeping Architecture & Strategy: Serve as the subject matter expert and Solution Architect for the Workday Timekeeping module. Provide deep expertise on Workday's baseline functionality to validate current configurations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the system aligns with business needs for all 600 users transitioning to the new platform.
- Project Management & Execution: Take ownership of the remaining implementation and launch activities, ensuring the planned February 2026 go-live deadline is met. This role requires a blend of architecture and project management skills.
- Cutover and Data Migration Leadership: Lead the PPM to Workday Cutover activities, including strategy and execution for data migration. This involves ensuring the seamless transition of historical data and managing the staggered launch, where new projects start in Workday on January 1st while the full transition completes two months later.
- Reporting and System Adaptation: Address user requests for reporting changes and modifications within the Workday system, leveraging a strong understanding of Workday's reporting capabilities to meet ongoing operational needs.
- Change Management Support: Work closely with the project team and stakeholders to define and execute the change management strategy related to the new timekeeping system, focusing on user adoption and training for the 600-user population.
- System Integration Oversight: Understand and support the existing integrations with Fieldglass (for invoicing) and PeopleSoft, collaborating with implementation partners (e.g., TopBloc) to resolve integration and operational challenges.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Workday Solutions Architect, Consultant, or equivalent role, with a primary and strong focus on the Workday Timekeeping module.
- Proven expertise in leading significant phases of a Workday Implementation lifecycle (design, configuration, testing, cutover, and post-production support).
- Demonstrated experience in Cutover planning and execution, specifically managing data migration and system launch in a complex environment.
- Strong background in Workday Reporting and an ability to quickly address evolving business requirements through system changes.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to drive technical and business deliverables to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Experience or familiarity with transitioning from legacy systems (e.g., MS PPM) to Workday is a plus.
