POSITION SUMMARY:
The Solution Architect plays a critical role in designing technical solutions that align with specific business needs and project goals. Operating at the project or system level, this role bridges the gap between Enterprise Architects, who focus on strategic IT planning, and Technical Architects, who concentrate on implementation specifics. The Solution Architect is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that integrate seamlessly with the broader enterprise architecture.This is a remote position (US). #LI-Remote
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions that are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise strategy
- Design and document solution architecture for Salesforce initiatives, including integrations with internal and external systems
- Choose appropriate technology stacks, Salesforce components, and integration patterns
- Ensure compliance with development standards, DevOps pipelines, CI/CD strategies, and environment management best practices
Collaboration and Oversight:
- Work closely with Enterprise Architects to align tactical solutions with strategic IT vision
- Collaborate with Technical Architects to drive effective solution implementation
- Partner with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers to ensure solutions meet business needs
- Guide development teams on architectural decisions and best practices
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring solutions meet security, scalability, and compliance requirements
- Support transformation planning initiatives including cloud migration, external audits, and major business projects
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate emerging technologies, Salesforce roadmap updates, and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation
- Promote architectural excellence and reusable patterns in Salesforce solution design
- Participate in architecture governance and contribute to architecture review boards
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Solution architecture best practices, integration patterns, and system design principles
- Salesforce ecosystem including Health Cloud, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, NPSP (or NP Cloud) and Agent Force (AI-driven insights and automation)
- Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, Process Builder, and Einstein AI
- Common integration methods and platforms including REST APIs, WS02, Oracle Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and middleware solutions
- Third-party Salesforce tools including OWN (Backup, Archiver, Secure), Gearset, GitHub, Copado, Jenkins, and Salesforce DX
- Cloud services and platforms including AWS, Azure
- Application and domain-specific knowledge
Ability to:
- Create and communicate detailed architecture artifacts to diverse technical and non-technical audiences
- Effectively manage ongoing activities and ensure successful handoff from concept to IT operations
- Work independently and collaboratively across technical and business teams
- Translate high-level strategy into executable solutions
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for the degree.
- 5 or more years of experience in software architecture or solution design roles
- Experience with Salesforce and cloud-based solution architecture
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
- SAFe Agile and TOGAF certifications
- Experience in the Health and Life Sciences industry
- Strong business acumen and understanding of application domain context
