Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced technical manager to coach, grow, and partner with skilled Startups Solutions Architects. The role involves driving growth across startup customers and shaping both customer‑facing and technical capabilities of the team.

You will work directly with a variety of interesting customers, help them make technical decisions, and build enduring relationships. Technical credibility, leadership experience, and an understanding of modern development practices and startup journeys are essential.

You will help team members ramp up on AWS, develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills, and partner with other AWS departments to represent the team at executive management.

Open to domestic travel up to 30%.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure customers’ success in building and migrating infrastructure, software, and services onto the AWS platform using best practices and modern architectures.
• Capture and share best‑practice knowledge within the AWS Solutions Architect community, especially for early‑stage startups.
• Partner with sales and business development teams to formulate and execute a strategy to drive successful customer outcomes worldwide for startups.
• Hire, onboard, train, and develop new Solutions Architects.
• Coach Solutions Architects in conducting one‑to‑few and one‑to‑many training sessions to transfer deep technical skills to customers.
• Create and motivate development of whitepapers, data sheets, solutions, quick‑starts, and other high‑value customer‑facing content and best practices.
• Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.
• Engage broadly with Amazon leadership to communicate vision and work across the organization.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise IT application work including at least 2 years of hands‑on software development or DevOps engineering experience.
• 2+ years of architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.).
• 5+ years of technology solutions development and evangelizing end‑to‑end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing.
• Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals, ideally in customer‑facing roles.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience architecting, migrating, transforming, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.
