Job description

We’re seeking a hands-on Solutions Architect for a remote contract opportunity, focused on designing and building API integrations with fulfillment partners. This client-facing role collaborates with internal product and engineering teams to develop integration solutions from scratch. Experience with any programming language is welcome; Ruby is highly preferred.

Own solutions from initial requirements and architecture through prototyping and implementation. You’ll shape how partner systems connect, map complex data flows, and lead technical walkthroughs that help clients and engineering teams move from concept to delivery.

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience designing and building API integrations from scratch.
• Hands-on programming experience and the ability to develop integration prototypes.
• Strong solution architecture skills, including translating business and functional requirements into technical designs.
• Experience defining data flows, system interactions, and integration workflows.
• Ability to create solution design documents, architecture diagrams, and implementation artifacts.
• Strong client-facing communication skills, including leading technical walkthroughs and explaining design decisions.
• Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Located in Canada with availability during Eastern time business hours.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Strong Ruby development experience.
• Prior experience with Amazon, Shopify, or another fulfillment-focused company, particularly building API integrations with fulfillment partners.
• Experience with fulfillment systems and partner integration workflows.
• Experience evaluating and selecting technologies to meet integration requirements.

Daily Responsibilities

• Hands-On Development: Design and build API integrations with fulfillment partners, develop prototypes, and translate requirements into working solutions.
• Architecture & Technical Guidance: Define system design flows, evaluate technology options, and produce solution design documents and architecture artifacts.
• Team Collaboration: Work directly with clients, fulfillment partners, and internal product and engineering teams; lead technical walkthroughs and align stakeholders on solution designs.
