Prime Video is one of the leading digital video services on the Internet today, and we're just getting started. A Solution Architect within The Technical Integration Team works with external partners to define and deliver video contribution solutions that meet the technical requirements and capabilities of both the partners and Prime Video. External partners can include broadcasters like HBO, broadcast service operators such as EDM or Switch, telcos like Lumen, third-party software vendors such as Zixi, or production companies like Sunset & Vine.

Internally, Solution Architects collaborate with commercial and business teams to define technical requirements, work with software development teams to align on high-level, end-to-end engineering solutions, and coordinate with operational teams to ensure supportability of products and services post-launch. Our team has supported launches of properties like Thursday Night Football, NASCAR, concerts, current events, and award shows like the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Key job responsibilities

As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for end-to-end interactions across multiple services, including video contribution, metadata, rights management, SCTE insertion, ad tracking for Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI), Nielsen watermark tracking, and multiple audio or caption tracks for customer experience or accessibility.

Solution Architects in Prime Video are specialists in audio, video, and metadata signal flow from camera to device. The work spans video contribution, networking, processing, distribution, and user experience, involving multiple systems, teams, and organizations. Troubleshooting in real-time is common, as viewers are our customers.

About the team

Solution Architects are specialists in audio, video, and metadata signal flow, from camera to device. They do not write production code but may provide examples or demonstration code to explain data flows and design choices. They solve broad problems across multiple technologies and provide repeatable solutions. They work closely with Customer and Partner requirements, translating business needs into technical solutions and acting as escalation points when customer experience issues arise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of experience in application and infrastructure design, implementation, or consulting
• 4+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, security, networking, or data & analytics
• 10+ years of IT development or consulting experience in the software or internet industries

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in software development or internet-related industries
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud
• Experience working with AWS technologies from a DevOps perspective
