The Solution Architect is a key technology leadership position responsible for consulting, analyzing, identifying, and recommending technology solutions to meet business goals. The role requires a deep understanding of software applications, system integration, product evaluation, system implementation, and software development. It involves strategic and tactical planning to guide decisions impacting the application landscape.
Position Accountabilities
- Identify and evaluate technology application solutions based on use cases and business outcomes.
- Lead and document solution evaluations considering benefits, costs, operational impacts, security, compliance, and strategic fit.
- Provide technical consultation to ensure solutions are efficient, effective, and standards-compliant.
- Assess and maximize existing solutions to ensure full capabilities are leveraged.
- Recommend consolidation of underutilized or duplicative solutions to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Develop and maintain solution, system, and data flow artifacts.
- Lead knowledge-sharing sessions with teams about system functionalities.
- Support the evolution of the enterprise technology architecture program.
- Engage with vendors and third parties to analyze design options and ensure standards.
- Research emerging solutions and advise leadership accordingly.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Chief Data Officer or Head of Enterprise Architecture.
Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer/technology or related field (preferred).
- At least 10 years of IT experience, including implementing complex software applications and integrations.
- 7+ years in a structured IT environment using various methodologies.
- Mastery/certification in architecture frameworks or technologies.
- Proven ability to influence business and technology teams.
- Experience in Financial Services industry is preferred.
- Consulting experience is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of software applications, development, data integration, and strategic planning.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle and Agile projects.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Creative problem-solving and adaptability to new ideas.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
