Job summary

Fastly, Inc. is seeking a Solutions Architect - Delivery to guide customers through onboarding, design, and deployment on our edge cloud platform. You will craft technical solutions using VCL, Go, JavaScript, or Rust, while advising on performance and feature usage to maximize value.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Sales Engineers, training material creation, and hands-on customer enablement. Remote-friendly across U.S. time zones with core business hours.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CDN and WAF technologies, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of HTTP and web application implementation.
• Experience with protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, TLS.
• Basic coding knowledge in Go, JavaScript, or Rust.
• Experience in customer-facing technical consulting and guiding customers.

Responsibilities

Solutions Architect - Delivery

What You’ll Do:

• Work with new customers to integrate the company into their systems during their on-boarding

• Design and build technical solutions on the company, using VCL / Go / Rust / Javascript

• Provide existing customers guidance on additional features and performance tuning.

• Write and present training materials to customers and internal teams

• Work with Sales Engineers to build Proof Of Concepts for prospective customers

• Be the Subject Matter Expert on the the company Delivery and Compute platform

What We’re Looking For:

• Proficiency in CDN and WAF technologies, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Expert knowledge of HTTP and web application implementation

• Troubleshooting supporting protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, TLS)

• Basic coding knowledge, including having built projects in one of Go, JavaScript, or Rust

• Experience with customer-facing technical consultant

• Experience with project management, including analyzing a project's requirements, designing and documenting a solution, and delivering that to successful completion

• Created training materials and mentored junior team members

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

• Experience in additional programming languages

• Written and deployed automated testing ideally on top of continuous integration / continuous deployment systems

• Worked with infrastructure automation / configuration management systems

Work Hours:

This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements:

This position is a remote role and open to candidates residing in the following locations:

• Pacific timezone (PST)

• Mountain timezone (MST)

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $122,280 to $172,632

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in the company’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
